Maori Wardens provide a number of specialist services to the community generally on a voluntary basis, which can include:

  • Crowd Control
  • Traffic Management
  • Safety Patrols Event Management Advisory
  • General Security Patrolling
  • Marae duties as required and protocol information
  • Education seminars on the role of Maori Warden
  • Other duties as outlined in section 30-35 of the
    Maori Community Development Act 1962

The organisation has a governance arm responsible for policies and overall strategic direction and an operational arm who is reponsible for the management
